Welcome to Grassroots Soccer 2020 Spring Season.

What Is Grassroots?

Dave Steele (owner) is originally from England and he played in the Academy teams for Aston Villa and Bury F.C. He started coaching at the early age of 15 and over the past 12 years, he has taught multiple teams including the New York U16 State and Division champions from Long Island, u18 NCSL multiple league winning Champions. Dave holds a UEFA B license badge.

He now excels in teaching and developing players of multiple age groups to guide them into the chosen pathway.

Coach Dave has had many students go on to play at numerous colleges at a good standard and also turned many into NCSL EDP travel players.

His philosophy is to create a ladder of success for the players. A structured environment with good knowledge of the game can help the players learn the ‘outside of the box’ mindset.

  • Permits x 16
  • REC Uniform is provided – Training Shirt optional
  • League Coaching Fees x 8
  • Coaching Practice fees x 16
  • Tournament coaching

 

Training:
●   2 Training Sessions per week in the Fall (Wilson Wims Clarksburg)
●   1 Training per week in the Winter indoor

Games
●   Games are primarily on Saturdays
●   Some Sunday games for scheduling conflicts and rainouts
●    7v7- each match is 25 minutes half

Fall Registration Opening

The SAM Recreational league is a league that looks to promote the values of sportsmanship, and teamwork all around the beautiful game of soccer. All games are played at the award-winning Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown. The SAM Recreational League provides a positive environment for children to learn and develop in the game of soccer.
